BLURB

To all of those innocent spirits boarding on a plane or train and making their way over to the Chinese metropolis – this is for you. To all the darers and risk-takers, gambling their hard-earned wages on the potential of an El Dorado – this is for you. Indeed, many are we that have left everything behind in the hope of making a name in the city of dreams that has become Shanghai. Of course, this is a tough venture with entire lives at stake and it is certain not all will survive, rewarded in their proper means. In “The Great Leap”, Liu Dao captures the anticipation and fear of leaving behind known territory for the mysterious and smoggy shores of the Middle Kingdom. Will she dare to risk the jump or will she shy from the challenge? [Jack Mur]
