Melbourne Art Fair 2014
with Conny Dietzschold Gallery
Liu Dao is following up their recent success down under with new partner Conny Dietzschold Gallery in the “Winter Light” exhibition by making their grand debut at the Melbourne Art Fair. The Fair has reigned supreme as one of Australia’s premier contemporary art events since its inception 25 years ago, and annually features a choice collection of art from leading galleries in Australia, the Asia Pacific, and beyond. This year, a select 70 galleries will display work from over 300 prominent artists when the Fair runs from August 13th through the 17th. With an event this exclusive, it should come as no surprise that Liu Dao is involved. Look out for the collective’s sassy multimedia “Siren” in Conny Dietzschold Gallery’s booth #E102 in the Fair’s Galleries exhibition sector.
The Melbourne Art Fair is the highlight of the annual Melbourne Art Week, making this event one of the region’s most culturally saturated affairs. This outstanding event is held within Carlton Gardens’ Royal Exhibition Building, a World Heritage site that was built in 1880 to host the World’s Fair Melbourne International Exhibition in 1880 -1881, and was later the site of the first Parliament of Australia in 1901. As one of the last remaining nineteenth-century exhibition buildings in the world, the Royal Exhibition Building’s opulent interior proves a fitting locale for the Fair, and will soon find itself complimented by Liu Dao’s signature luxurious touch.
